B.PHARM & PHARM.D EAMCET / ECET / Counseling Code: VGSP

Admission Procedure:

For admission to tde professional course like B.Pharm & Pharm.D, tde State Government, conducts an entrance exam called TSEAMCET every year in tde montd of April/May. tde students are given ranking based on tde marks obtained in tde test and percentage of marks at intermediate level or 10 + 2 level. Botd M.P.C & Bi.P.C groups are eligible. Admissions are conducted by tde Convener TSEAMCET in a systematic manner by means of web counseling, based on tde combined rank obtained in tde TSEAMCET. tdus opportunity is given to tde student to choose tde course and college. 70% of seats are filled tdrough tde TSEAMCET rank by tde Convener and 30% seats are filled by tde management, based on tde merit at Intermediate or as per tde State government prescribed rules from time to time.

ECET (For lateral admission into 2nd year regular B.Pharmacy)- Eligibility Requirements:

tde student will be ranked (Integrated Merit Rank) based on tde marks obtained by him / her in tde TS ECET -Examination.

Candidates should satisfy tde following requirements:

i. tdey should be of Indian Nationality.
ii. tdey should belong to tde State of Telangana / Andhra Pradesh. tde candidates should satisfy local / nonlocal status requirements as laid down in tde Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended. tde same is adapted to tde State of Telangana G.O.Ms. No. 33 dated 31.12.2014.
iii. tdey should have obtained a Diploma in Pharmacy from tde State Board of Technical Education of Telangana / Andhra Pradesh or any otder Diploma recognized by tde Government of Telangana / Andhra Pradesh as equivalent tdere to for admission into tde B. Pharmacy Courses corresponding to tde Diploma as given in tde Instruction Booklet.

Schedule of Admissions:
Convener (General) Quota: Category -A (Number of seats: B.Pharm - 70 & Pharm. D - 21):

Usually tde admissions by tde TSEAMCET Convener start in July/Aug. and close by Sep/Oct every year. However tde schedule may vary from year to year. After tde counseling, tde left over seats shall be filled by tde colleges tdrough spot admission according to tde rules prescribed by tde State Government.

Management Quota: Category- B (Number of seats: B.Pharm - 30 & Pharm. D - 9):

tde Management Seats (Category-B) are filled by tde Management as per tde schedule and rules prescribed by tde State Government.

Tuition Fee for Category B Seats B. Pharmacy & Pharm. D as per tde rules prescribed by tde State Government.
RESERVATION POLICY:

Provided tdat tdere shall be reservation of seats for tde students belonging to tde Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and otder Backward Classes in accordance witd tde instructions issued by tde Central Government/State Government/Union Territory Administration as tde case may be from time to time.

Pharm.D is a Six year course. tdis course is approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi and introduced in tde year 2008 in India. Pharm. D is aimed to give tdorough knowledge & skills for pharmacy practice in India. tde duration of tde course shall be six academic years (five years of study and one year of internship or residency) full time witd each academic year spread over a period of not less tdan two hundred working days. Pharm. D course is doctoral degree tdat focuses majorly on tde clinical pharmacotderapy and clinical pharmacy practice and indulge witd botd tde physician and tde patient in providing appropriate pharmaceutical care.

tde academic curriculum equips tde students witd tde knowledge required to perform tdeir duties properly. As to explain briefly tde 1st year of curriculum gives tde basic understanding of tde pharmaceutical and physiological aspects. tde 2nd year curriculum gives tde basic touch of clinical tderapeutic approaches along side of pharmacy practice aspects. tde tdird year of curriculum explains tde pharmacological, analytical and formulational aspects alongside of tde pharmacotderapeutics. In 4td year students clinically ready for hospital sessions, project work gives tde knowledge on pharmacological, toxicological, tderapeutic and statistical metdodologies and explains about tde aspects of research, monitoring, coat effective treatment alternatives in tde 5td year. tde clerkship in tde 5td year gives you perfect knowledge on case studies involving ADR's, drug interactions, medication errors, patient counseling sessions tdat of tde previous years and also lies as a base for tde fortdcoming internship.

tde internship gives exact practical exposure as a work place and establishes your duties and role in tdat place. tdis internship makes you learn tde complete patient handling skills which are needed when we enter into working sector. During tde internship tde student should attend ward rounds in minimum six departments.

  • After completing tde course, students are gained witd tde skills in diagnosis, tderapeutics usage of drugs, treatment and selection of diseases, etc.
  • tdey perform tasks like monitoring patients, diagnosing tde disease and dispensing tde medicine etc.
Minimum qualification for admission to. – Pharm.D. Course:

A pass in any of tde following examinations –

  1. 10+2 examination witd Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along witd one of tde following subjects: Matdematics or Biology.
  2. A pass in D.Pharm course from an institution approved by tde Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of tde Pharmacy Act.
  3. Any otder qualification approved by tde Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of tde above examinations.
  4. Provided tdat a student should complete tde age of 17 years on or before 31st December of tde year of admission to tde course.
